SAAT (Soliman's Auricular Allergy Technique) is a safe, simple ear acupuncture technique developed by Dr. Nader Soliman, MD, that treats a wide range of allergies — including environmental, food and pet allergies, and even alpha-gal syndrome. Unlike conventional allergy treatments that manage symptoms with medication, SAAT works to retrain your immune system to stop overreacting to allergens. It's remarkably effective for people who have struggled for years, especially those with multiple or severe sensitivities.

Mast Cell Activation Syndrome (MCAS)
Mast Cell Activation Syndrome occurs when mast cells become overreactive. Overactive mast cells produce many inflammatory chemicals, including histamine. MCAS symptoms may range from mild to severe and include hives, flushing, allergies, and digestive symptoms. MCAS may also present as brain fog, sinus congestion, runny nose, itchy eyes, or headaches after eating certain foods. Those with mast cell issues have also reported joint pain, fibromyalgia pain, anxiety, and palpitations.
With the addition of homeopathic remedies, SAAT can help those with MCAS experience fewer to no symptoms. To evaluate you, Lia uses muscle testing with a set of components based on your specific allergy concerns — identifying exactly what your immune system is reacting to before any treatment is placed.
What to expect
Your visit begins with a thorough consultation. Lia will take time to go over your specific allergy reactions in detail — some are highly serious and some are minimal, but the goal is to document exactly what you are experiencing, being as accurate and precise as possible. She will answer all your questions about the medicine, your condition, and what other patients have experienced. Once your allergens are identified and documented, Lia will proceed to your SAAT treatment. A tiny, sterile needle is gently placed in a precise point on the ear — one point per allergen. The needle is secured and remains in place for 3 to 4 weeks, providing continuous, gentle stimulation that helps retrain your immune response. Most patients feel little to no discomfort. After placement, you go home and let the needle do its work. One treatment per allergen is all that is needed.

Common questions
What is Soliman's Auricular Allergy Technique (SAAT)?
SAAT is an innovative form of auricular (ear) acupuncture developed by Dr. Nader Soliman, MD. A tiny needle is placed at a precise point in the ear corresponding to a specific allergen. The needle stays in place for 3–4 weeks, delivering continuous stimulation that helps reset your immune system's response to that allergen. It is safe, minimally invasive, and highly effective.
Does it hurt?
Most patients feel little to no discomfort. The needle used is extremely fine and placed in the outer ear. Once in place, most people forget it is there.
How many allergens can be treated at once?
At our clinic, we generally place fewer than three pins at a time — most often, one or two. Dr. Soliman himself said in his seminar that if you can address the allergy with one pin, then you should. Our perspective from classical acupuncture is that you only do what the body asks you to do. Two things factor into this: the condition of your immune system, and what is actually creating the most havoc. Those with weaker immune systems can't always address multiple allergies at once — that's been our empirical experience. We have great results because we stay focused on what matters most. If we determine that we can address multiple allergens for you, we will.
