Muskego Acupuncture
Pain Management
Acute, chronic, and everything in between — real relief for real pain.
Pain is what most people come to acupuncture for — and it's one of the things it does best. Whether your pain came on suddenly from an injury or has been with you for years, Lia treats the full spectrum: acute and chronic pain, structural and nerve-related pain, and the kind of persistent, hard-to-explain pain that hasn't responded to anything else. Acupuncture works by reducing inflammation, calming the nervous system, improving circulation, and releasing tight, overloaded tissue — addressing the root cause of your pain, not just masking the signal.
What to expect
Your first visit begins with a thorough intake — where your pain is, when it started, what makes it better or worse, and what you've already tried. Lia uses this alongside physical assessment and traditional Chinese diagnostic methods to build a clear picture of what's driving your pain. Treatment is precise and targeted. Depending on your condition, she may combine acupuncture with dry needling, cupping, or moxibustion. Most patients notice meaningful improvement within 3–6 sessions.

Benefits
Common questions
Can acupuncture help with my specific type of pain?
In most cases, yes. Acupuncture has strong clinical evidence for back pain, neck pain, headaches, osteoarthritis, sciatica, and many other pain conditions. Lia will be upfront with you about what to expect for your specific situation after your first visit.
How many sessions will I need?
Acute pain often responds quickly — sometimes within 2–4 sessions. Chronic pain that has been present for months or years typically requires a longer course of treatment, usually 8–12 sessions to see lasting change. Lia will give you a realistic plan after your intake.
Is it safe to combine acupuncture with my other treatments?
Yes. Acupuncture works well alongside physical therapy, chiropractic care, massage, and conventional medical treatment. Lia is happy to coordinate with your other providers.
